In Lehigh Acres, varicose and spider veins often go untreated because their symptoms are commonly dismissed. Many people assume that leg discomfort, swelling, or fatigue is simply age-related, but these signs often point to venous insufficiency. This condition is progressive, meaning it continues to worsen over time if left unaddressed.
At our Fort Myers vein clinic, care is led by Dr. Joseph Iraci, a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than 40 years of experience, and Jared Reiss, PA-C, a nationally certified physician assistant who specializes entirely in vein procedures. Together, they have performed over 10,000 treatments for patients across Southwest Florida.
Every procedure is minimally invasive and carried out at our Royal Gulf Circle location, usually completed within 15 to 45 minutes. Most patients are able to get back to their day immediately after. We accept a wide range of major insurance plans, and our team manages all prior authorizations ahead of time so you understand your benefits before moving forward.

A catheter-based procedure that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to heat and close diseased veins from the inside. Blood automatically reroutes through healthier vessels nearby.

A non-surgical injection treatment that collapses spider veins and smaller varicose veins using a precisely administered solution. We also offer Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy for deeper veins that are not visible at the surface.

An FDA-approved microfoam injection that treats varicose veins of varying sizes above and below the knee. No incisions, no heat, and no general anesthesia. The foam closes the vein and is naturally absorbed by the body.

Most people don’t realize how widespread vein disease really is. National data shows that 24% of adults in the United States have varicose veins, and 6% experience symptoms tied to chronic venous disease.
When you bring that into Lehigh Acres, the impact becomes more real. An estimated 29,886 residents may be living with visible varicose veins, and roughly 7,471 could be dealing with a deeper, underlying vein condition that often goes undiagnosed.
The difference is that this condition is treatable. With the right care, you can reduce discomfort, improve circulation, and restore the appearance of your legs. Our team is here to guide you through that process with expert, straightforward care.

The most common warning signs are leg heaviness or fatigue that gets worse as the day goes on, visible bulging or twisted veins, swelling in the ankles or calves, itching or burning around a vein, skin discoloration near the ankles, and restless legs at night. Many patients also report that their symptoms improve when they elevate their legs and get worse after standing or sitting for long periods. If any of these sound familiar, a free vein evaluation can determine whether venous insufficiency is the cause.
Each treatment session takes between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the procedure. Radiofrequency Ablation and VenaSeal typically take about 20 to 30 minutes. Sclerotherapy sessions can be as short as 15 minutes. All procedures are performed in our Lehigh Acres clinic — there is no hospital visit and no general anesthesia involved.
In most cases, yes. When varicose veins are causing symptoms like pain, swelling, or skin changes, treatment is considered medically necessary and is covered by most insurance plans. Our team handles the entire prior authorization process before your treatment is scheduled, so you know exactly what your plan covers. Spider vein treatments that are purely cosmetic may not be covered, but we will explain your options during the evaluation.
Most patients do not. Our procedures are designed for minimal disruption. You can drive yourself to and from the appointment, and the majority of patients return to their regular routine — including work — the same day. We recommend avoiding heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for about a week, but desk work, walking, and normal daily activity are fine immediately after treatment.
Varicose veins are larger, raised, and often twisted veins that bulge beneath the skin. They are caused by faulty valves that allow blood to pool in the vein, and they frequently cause symptoms like pain, heaviness, and swelling. Spider veins are smaller, flat, and appear as thin red, blue, or purple lines on the skin surface. Spider veins are usually a cosmetic concern, but they can sometimes indicate deeper venous insufficiency. Both conditions are treatable at our clinic.
Your first visit includes a conversation about your symptoms and medical history, a physical examination of your legs, and an on-site duplex ultrasound performed by our registered vascular technologist. The ultrasound maps the blood flow in your veins and identifies any areas of reflux or valve failure. Your provider reviews the results with you the same day and explains your treatment options, including expected costs and insurance coverage. The entire first visit usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
Yes. Venous insufficiency is a progressive condition, which means it does not improve on its own. Over time, untreated vein disease can lead to worsening pain, chronic swelling, skin darkening around the ankles, and in advanced cases, venous ulcers that are difficult to heal. Early treatment is simpler, faster, and prevents these complications from developing. If you have been putting off getting your veins checked, a free evaluation is a good starting point.
No. You can call our Lehigh Acres clinic directly at 239-687-4015 or book through our website. No referral is required. We offer complimentary vein evaluations for new patients, so there is no cost or obligation to come in and get your legs checked.
